Econicraft 2.0 and new spawn/world discussion

With Econicraft 2.0 on the way, it is time to start thinking about our plans and what we will do differently for it. These are some ideas that have been presented in the past but I'll reiterate them again here. We need to seriously limit the use of world edit in the new spawn, and what will probably be a new world. No more towns on miles of flat land (I'm talking to you, Plaza). And the floating balls of spawn were just sorta... silly and were rather space inefficient for what we needed them for. World edit is a great tool to help you build things but YOU have the actually do the building Razz. We should also have less admin-built cities and we need to get rid of flying for everyone except those in creative or for donors, that way they actually get something that other people don't have.

We certainly should try to cut back on world edit(I myself am no saint, managing to crash the server and cover my town in bedrock) Also an idea for spawn, we could build a hall of members, so when a person has been a member for a week or more they earn a spot in the wall. Just a idea, could work or good be a wasste of time Razz

I vote that only John, And the team of 3 Admins will have access to Creative, Fly, WE, And Above Mod level commands. We should do away with the stupid ranks, Leave only Owner, Admin, And Moderators.

I don't think that creative mode should be as plentiful as that, I personally recon that the team of admins should have creative, while the moderators should have access to it if need be (not 24/7 [when admin or higher approve]). Also daddy, we haven't seen soviet in ages, hence the 'team of 3' 0.0 unless you guys want to recruit another in his place.....HINT HINT HINT HINT. Lol Laughing

I also agree with daddy's comments. While I also wish that moderators can be given creative, under certain circumstances. Also creative should not be used for personal use e.g. building towns (wow I wish I didn't say that xD) but only for thing beneficial towards the server.

I should stop spamming now

I agree. Only Admin level and above will be allowed WE, Though, At Johns Discretion. And smint... Im putting a good word in for you as Admin.

Ben (Sovietreunion) has been busy with work, and will likely be Out of Pocket, So dont expect much help from him, As it stands i think the power should be set at:

Owner: John

Admins: Myself, Sminty10, And another at Johns choice.

Moderators: Uinshane, Sminty if she doesnt make Admin, and another at Johns Choice

No other ranks other than user ranks. No "Cheifs" No Builders, Nothing else.

If john approves this, Then i think the balance of power will be seated Properly.

So what I don't get creative to build these skyscrapers? Does that mean we're doing a whole new spawn? I would like to hear someone else's ideas for spawn because the only thing I've heard so far is a medieval town which is, well exactly what we had last time just minus a dome.

Well Space has very elaborate ideas about a medieval town, and it would be nothing like the old spawn

Anyway, I was thinking that each major town gets their own spot in spawn to build whatever they like, whether that be a skyscraper or a medieval castle, or anything else. I think it could look good if there is no conformity with the style and everything will look unique for each town. The rest of spawn should all follow the same theme, though.

That's the whole idea behind the skyscrapers, is that they would represent the towns. But the other thing is functionality. They would serve as an excellent way to attract new people and also as hotels. They would all look different, but they would enough the same that they don't look out of place. And if these aren't elaborate, I don't know what is.

As as far as admins go, we definitely had too many. However, i did like the rotating idea and I think that everyone should be voted in. This also plays into the fact that we need to put recruitment and less turnover as our highest priorities. A server can not just be admins. It doesn't work. Especially when you have so many people qualified and wanting to be an admin.

Actually, Weber, You were a Moderator, And space was an admin. Im perfectly fine with Space being an admin again. I think Sminty has proved herself as well.

You were a Moderator with Permissions to Affect moderators, You could not affect Admins, Or admin decisions Weber.

Point is. We should do away with the other ranks. We need a set staff, Moderators, Admins, And an owner.

OK here's the deal daddy. I respect you, and think you're a great admin but you came in here after we had already been planning how to start the server back up. We can't build spawn if we don't have creative. And somebody please correct me if I'm wrong here, but I am building these skyscrapers as a new spawn, right?

Master, Ive been trying to help John get the server up since it went down. Sent him messages, Tried to contact him on here, Etc. I dont speak for John, but if we are to build spawn, It will be What he wants, The way he wants it. If he enlists you, Thats awesome, but creative should be removed As soon as spawn is done. Too many people were building in Creative, making the server less challenging.
