Possible server revenue? **PLEASE READ NEED FEEDBACK**

Hello Econicraft community!

As you all may already know, hosting our little server 24/7 with all the benefits of a custom ip and 30 slots comes with a price. This price is not in iConomy dollars, but in actual money. As of writing this post, it costs about $12 dollars a month for server hosting (which is an amazing deal as far as servers go).

I do not currently have a dependable source of income from which I can pay for our server from month to month and my current savings account is dwindling away with each new added cost of running the server. As far as earning new money, im relatively stuck and the last thing I want to do is pass the cost onto you all, the players. So, in order to keep the server running, it is crucial that we find a good source of money for the server.

So, my big idea to earn money to pay for the server is..........



























































































































































































An Econicraft youtube channel!

Basically, what we would need to do is:

1. Create an Econicraft youtube channel
2. Create original, MONETIZABLE content that can be posted to the channel
3. Benefit by taking in ad revenue as well as advertising to new players

Many of you already have well established youtube channels. If we were to have a community channel for this server, not only could you promote it on your own channels, but you can create content to put on the community channel!

This is just one idea on how we might gain revenue for the server and have fun doing it. Tell me what you all think below and lets do this!

We would need some content to put on the channel though, my ideas are having weekly contests and most of the regulars on our server log in for a weekly contest of some sort and someone records it. It could be

Spleef
PvP Arena
Mob Arena
Beer Pong
Tenis
Soccer
Maze maybe

Ohter Sethbling creations would be awesome to!

You could recruit someone in charge of building the arenas every week (may i recommend Daddy_pika if he is interested since he did a great job of the arena) and assistants ( I would love to vollenter!)

Also we could do server plugins every now and again similar to the herobrine plugin and get someone to video himself being trolled by herobrine etc

If the channel works out really well later we could invite some minecraft you-tubers to join our weekly events

Someone would need a microphone to like commentate on the events and add background music and such

I'm pretty okay at editing videos if you need someone for that. I use Sony Vegas and know some good, royalty free sources for music.

YouTube channels that make money are hard and few inbetween. It requires a partnership with YouTube based upon content created, frequency of new content, number of views, and number of subscribers – difficult to achieve without some 'wow' factor or uniqueness among the content that we post.

I propose a different avenue: in-game incentives for donations.
Many servers try this out, and since we have a server with a lot of plugins, this can work to our benefit. For instance, some servers have a deal where donations give users special titles, command abilities, or in-game money. It's reliable, low-effort, and has so much flexibility.

The only catch would be that we need to attract more users to expand the odds of the owner getting donations to a PayPal account that could then be used to pay for server expenses.

One way you could do it is to put ads on the forum, which may not pay for it in whole, but will provide some source of revenue. Then push the use of the forum in server.

Ender wouldn't get money from that since he doesn't own Forum Motion -- and I highly doubt Forum Motion lets their free forum admins collect ad revenue. In order to do that he would need to purchase a domain, develop a website, and then have Google advertise on there via DoubleClick or AdMotion.
